According to Law 4957/2022, the competent bodies responsible for the operation of the MA programme are:
The Department Assembly
The Programme’s Coordinating Committee (CC)
The CC consists of the Director of the MA Programme and four (4) faculty members (DEP) or professors emeriti of the Department whose field of expertise is relevant to the programme and who undertake teaching responsibilities in it. The members of the CC are appointed by decision of the Department Assembly.
The CC is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the operation of the MA programme and specifically:
a) Drafts the programme's annual budget and any amendments (if applicable), and submits it for approval to the Research Committee of the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE)
b) Drafts the programme's financial report and submits it to the Department Assembly for approval
c) Approves expenses related to the MA programme
d) Approves the awarding of scholarships (merit- or need-based), in accordance with the founding decision and postgraduate regulations
e) Recommends to the Department Assembly the allocation and assignment of teaching duties
f) Recommends the invitation of Visiting Professors to cover teaching needs
g) Proposes amendments to the curriculum to the Department Assembly
h) Recommends the redistribution of courses across academic semesters and addresses issues related to the academic improvement of the programme
The Director must be a faculty member of the Department (preferably full or associate professor) and is appointed by the Department Assembly for a two-year term, renewable without restriction.
The Director's responsibilities include:
a) Chairing the CC, setting the agenda, and convening meetings
b) Submitting proposals to the Department Assembly regarding the programme’s organisation and operation
c) Making recommendations to the CC and other relevant academic bodies concerning the effective running of the MA programme
d) Acting as the Scientific Coordinator of the programme
e) Monitoring the implementation of the programme’s decisions and internal regulations, including budget execution
f) Performing any other duty as defined by the programme’s founding decision
The Director and the members of the CC are not entitled to any remuneration or compensation for their duties.
The MA programme "Greek and World Theatre: Drama, Performance, Education" is supported by a dedicated Secretariat based within the Department of Theatre Studies at NKUA, under the oversight of the department’s general Secretariat. Its responsibilities include administrative support (admissions, budget tracking, grade recording, electronic services, CC support, etc.).
