Assistant Professor
Theatre Studies – History of Modern Greek Theatre with emphasis on Acting
Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Her research interests focus on the history and theory of acting, the development of Modern Greek theatre from the nineteenth century to the present, the history of Greek theatre companies, as well as the study of the work of Greek actors from both historical and biographical perspectives. She has presented papers at a significant number of academic conferences in Greece and abroad and has organised conferences, study days, and scholarly meetings as coordinator or member of scientific and/or organising committees. Her publications include monographs, ebooks, edited volumes, articles, and studies published in conference proceedings and collective volumes in Greece and internationally. Most recently, she co-edited the volume 400 Years of Molière: Reception Issues in Modern Greek Education and Modern Greek Theatre, 18th–21st Century (Anna Tabaki & Alexia Altouva, eds., Kapa Editions, Athens, 2025, 553 pp.).
From 2019 to 2023, she served as Director of the Laboratory of Research and Documentation of Modern Greek Theatre, of which she remains an active member. She has also worked as a scientific associate and researcher on large-scale projects co-funded by the European Social Fund and national resources. [Recent participations: 1. Since 2015, she has served as Academic Coordinator of the student internship programme of the Department of Theatre Studies.
