VERDIS ATHANASIOS

Thanos Verdis is an Associate Professor of Educational Research and Evaluation at the School of Philosophy, University of Athen, and a founding member of the Hellenic Society for Educational Evaluation. He studied Pedagogy at the Department of Primary Education, University of Athens, and

He has worked as a primary school teacher and as an advisor in educational evaluation at the former Pedagogical Institute. His research interests focus on both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. In quantitative methods, he has worked on algorithms for the analysis of categorical data. In qualitative methodologies, he has studied alternative-narrative ethnographic forms.

In the field of education studies, he has researched the phenomenon of private tutoring(frontistiria) and the issue of geographical inequalities in access to higher education. In the field of theatre studies, he has been involved in the creation and analysis of digital narratives of performing arts professionals through two European Erasmus projects.
