Competent bodies for the operation of the Postgraduate Studies Programme, according to law 4485/2017, are:
1. The Assembly of the Department
2. The Coordinating Committee (CO) of the Postgraduate Studies Programme
It consists of five (5) faculty members of the Department, who have undertaken the postgraduate project and are elected by the Assembly of the Department for a two-year term. The President of the SE is the Director of the PMS, who is appointed by the Assembly from among the members of the SE. The term of office of the President of the SE may be renewed once. The SE is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the operation of the program and:
- Recommends to the Assembly the procedures for announcing positions for post graduate students (MP) and conducts the selection exams.
- Recommends to the Assembly the selection of teachers/teachers and the distribution of the teaching work among the teachers/teachers of the Postgraduate Studies Programme.
- Recommends to the Assembly the selection of the administrative staff of the Postgraduate Studies Programme.
- Appoints the supervisor and the members of the three-member thesis examination committee, whose appointment is ratified by the Department Assembly.
- Examines student matters such as applications for suspension of studies, extension of studies, recognition of courses from previous postgraduate education, replacement of courses of this Program with courses of other Master's Programs, and makes recommendations to the Assembly of the Department.
- Recommends to the Assembly the evaluation and self-evaluation procedures of the Postgraduate Studies Programme.
3. The Director of the Postgraduate Studies Programme and his/her Deputy
The Director of the Postgraduate Studies Programme is a member of the faculty of the first level or the rank of the Deputy, of the same or related academic subject as the academic subject of the Postgraduate Studies Programme. In addition, he is a member and President of the SE. He is appointed together with his Deputy, by decision of the Assembly of the Department.
The Director of the Postgraduate Studies Programme makes recommendations to the competent bodies of the Foundation on any issue concerning the effective operation of the program. The Director cannot serve more than two (2) consecutive terms and is not entitled to additional remuneration for his administrative work as Director. It has the following responsibilities:
a) Summons the SE to a meeting.
b) Draws up the agenda of the meetings in question, taking into account suggestions of the members and bodies of the Postgraduate Studies Programme.
c) Designates elections for the replacement of committee members due to vacancies.
d) He is responsible for drawing up the budget and report of the Program, which he submits to the Assembly for approval.
e) He/she is responsible for monitoring the execution of the budget and for issuing the payment orders for the relevant expenses.
f) At the end of his/her term, as well as that of the SE, draw up a detailed report on the research and educational work of Postgraduate Studies Programme, as well as its other activities, with the aim of upgrading studies, better utilizing human resources, optimizing of the existing infrastructure and the socially beneficial use of the available Postgraduate Studies Programme resources.
The Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Studies Programme is a Professor or Deputy Professor and fulfills the duties of the Director in his/her absence.
The PMS "Greek and World Theatre: Drama, Performance, Education" is supported by the Program Secretariat which is located in the Department of Theater Studies of EKPA and is under the supervision of the Secretariat of the Department of Theater Studies of EKPA. The Postgraduate Studies Programme Secretariat is tasked with the secretarial support of thePostgraduate Studies Programme, such as the preparation of the candidate admission process, keeping the financial data of the Program, the secretarial support of the SE, the registration of grades, the electronic support of the Postgraduate Studies Programme, etc.
